Parco colline carniche (Carnia Hills nature reserve)

The Intermunicipal Park "Colline Carniche" (Carnia Hills) is in the municipalities of Villa Santina, Enemonzo, Lauco, Raveo, in particular in the area between the point where the river Degano joints the river Tagliamento. The central aspect of the Park is its position on the banks of the Tagliamento, a river which has been of great importance for all the Friuli Venezia Giulia territory.

The Park owes its name to the gentle slopes of a series of hills exposed to the sun, covered by meadows and woods. The rolling area of the "Colline Carniche" Park is unique in the region for the value of the landscape and also for the towns and villages, with a series of ancient villages at an intermediate altitude between the valley bottom and the high pastures. The ancient buildings, still inhabited today, high up on the Raveo, Enemonzo and Valdie plains are unique.
